Visit to St John’s, Chelsea

Pioneer work and Church revitalisation inspires the new Bishop, having served his first living in a revitalisation parish

Andy Mason moved to the World’s End housing estate in 2006 to plant a church in a disused Church of England building. Rob was inspired by hearing how this pioneer work has developed, the impact they are having on their community and their plans for the future.

It was a particular delight for Rob to meet Barbara Ofori Boateng, the pastoral worker at St John’s. She explained some of the initiatives they have been using to reach out to the culturally diverse local community and how they care for one another at St John’s.

Rob is keen to engage further with pioneer and revitalisation work.
